European Maritime Day in Burgas

The conference will be another great opportunity to gain new insights into maritime affairs and blue growth and related EU policies and funding opportunities.

Karmenu Vella, EU Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries will address the participants with a welcome speech.

Stakeholders workshops will cover several themes from aquaculture, marine litter, big data, ports, spatial planning, etc.

A plenary debate will discuss challenges and opportunities for sustainable blue growth in the Black Sea.

DG MARE will organise 3 info sessions on Measuring the EU Blue Economy, Turning Marine Litter into a sustainable business, and Financing strategic cooperation for Blue Growth.

Moreover, a plenary session on European funds post 2020 will provide an indication on the expected future funding landscape for fisheries and blue growth as well as maritime research and innovation.
